Governors
Requests for information, advice or support to the Governors helpline will be answered or a progress report given within 24 hours.
School Admission Appeal Hearings
We will hear school admission appeal hearings within 30 school days (except secondary transfer appeals.
Special educational needs
We will reply to or register parental requests for a statutory assessment of Special Educational Needs within 5 working days of receipt.
We will reply to or register school requests for a statutory assessment of Special Educational Needs within 5 working days of receipt.
We will respond to letters making representations about formal decisions of the authority (which are not in the form of an appeal to the SEN & Disability Tribunal) within 15 working days of receipt, sending an acknowledgement and details of reply date where a substantive reply may take longer.
We will see parents who request an interview within 10 working days, unless there are circumstances particular to the parent that make this impossible.
We will meet our statutory requirements in relation to formal consideration of children's special educational needs within specified timescales - if necessary reference can either be made to The Education (Special Educational Needs) (England) (Consolidation) Regulations 2001.
We will process annual review reports within two weeks of the report of the meeting being received from the school, ie parent receives outcome letter and school is told of support level for coming year.
We will complete phase transfers so that all secondary school placements are identified and amended statements finalised no later than 15 February of each year.
We will process cases no later than the Easter holiday where a child with a statement of Special Educational Needs is due to leave school.
Education welfare service
We will respond to written referrals (usually from schools/agencies but sometimes from families) with initial contact to the family within 3 working days.
We will provide written reports to schools within 10 working days.
Youth services
85% of young people will be within a safe 30 minute journey from youth work provision.
Youth provision with full time staff is open for a minimum of 3 sessions a week and additional sessions during half term, Easter and summer holidays.
Youth provision with part time staff is open for a minimum of 2 sessions a week.
All youth work units must involve young people in the running of that unit.
We will provide a minimum of 3 members of staff in open youth club work and a minimum of 2 members of staff for project work. Where possible and appropriate there should be a mixed gender team.
