Demolition Licence
If you intend to demolish a building exceeding 50 cubic metres, (roughly the size of a single garage), you need to complete a demolition notification form to obtain a licence.
The form takes about 10 minutes to complete and you can monitor your progress using the progress bar at the bottom of the screen. Once you have completed the form you will be asked to print the form, sign it and post it back to us at the specified address.

You will need to notify us in writing of your intention and not commence until a Demolition Notice is issued.
The following is a guide to the process:
- Send us in writing your intention to demolish, six weeks prior to the start of the works, which should include a site plan showing the boundaries and extent of demolition. You should include information such as precautionary measures your intend to put into place to safe guard adjacent buildings and any general public protection measures
- You should also notify adjacent occupiers and the gas, electric and water suppliers by sending them a copy of the form/Demolition Notice.
- We will aim to issue you with a demolition notice within 5 working days. You should not commence demolition until you receive this notice. The notice will contain conditions designed to secure the health and safety of the public.
- Copies of the notice will be sent to the gas, electric and water suppliers and also adjacent occupiers, Environmental Health and the Fire Service
