Grounds Maintenance Service
The Grounds Maintenance Service maintains the majority of Council owned amenity open space, parks, schools and other landscaped areas in the Borough. The section provides more than 30 staff, a horticultural nursery and a fleet of vehicles. As a service they carry out a diverse range of horticultural tasks from new projects to routine maintenance.
The section's environmental commitment extends beyond the visual environment and each year the Grounds Maintenance Service composts around 1,000 tonnes of green waste, runs five vehicles on LPG (to reduce emissions), makes use of 50kgs of hydro prolific polymer crystals (to conserve water), uses recycled or grey waste water from industry to water our flowers and makes responsible legal use of non-residual herbicide and mulching techniques to control weed growth
Bracknell Forest Homes
Following the transfer of the Council’s housing stock to a new local housing association, some tasks that were previously undertaken by the Grounds Maintenance Service are now the responsibility of a new organisation known as Bracknell Forest Homes.
