Licensing policy - consultation period 9 July to 1 October 2010
The Licensing Act 2003 has now been in force for almost 7 years. In this time Bracknell Forest Council as the Licensing Authority has reviewed the policy on two separate occasions. However, as regulations require the Licensing Authority to review its policy every three years, it is now time for the Council to review the present policy.
The licensing policy sets out the issues that the Licensing Authority will take into account when determining licences throughout the Borough of Bracknell and its overriding aim is to promote the four licensing objectives:
- Prevention of crime and disorder
- Public safety
- Prevention of public nuisance
- Protection of children from harm
Whilst the underlying principles of the licensing policy have remained unchanged, there will be several changes to clarify the impact of new legislation, new initiatives and to enhance the overall structure of this document.
The current policy is available to view and download:
Licensing policy January 2008 (210kb).
Alternatively, if you require a hard copy of the policy please contact the licensing team by email at licence.all@bracknell-forest.gov.uk or call the Customer Service Centre on 01344 352000 from Monday to Friday between 8:30 and 17:00.
All licensed premises within the Borough have been contacted to inform them of the consultation process with a request for comments. If you would like to make any comments on the policy, please do so in writing. Please note that all responses must be received by 1 October 2010.
