2001 Census Results

The first results from the 2001 Census have been published on National Statistics Online and include statistics for Bracknell Forest.

They show the age and sex of the population of the UK, England and Wales, regional and local authority level as at Census Day, 29 April 2001. Equivalent figures from Scotland and Northern Ireland have been published by the General Register Office for Scotland and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency respectively.

For ease of reference, the information from the 2001 Census has been reproduced in three data sets so as to capture, present and analyse data about Bracknell Forest in formats that can inform and benefit the work of Councillors, staff, partner organisations and other stakeholders. The data sets are provided as:

  • Summaries - Bracknell Forest: Key Statistics from the 2001 Census
  • Appendices - Key Census 2001: Technical Appendix
  • Base Data - Detailed excel data files upon which the technical appendix and summary report are based.

The Census results will underpin the mid-2001 population estimates.
