Regeneration - the story so far...
- 2007 - mid 2008 - Detailed planning work, Compulsory Purchase Orders and Road Closure Orders, BRP talks with potential anchor tenants for new development
- December 2006 - Outline Planning Permission issued following completion of planning agreement
- July 2006 - Outline Planning Application approved by Council
- March 2006 - Government Officer for the South East gives go-ahead to plans
- Feb 2006 - OPA provisionally accepted by Council
- 2004 - BRP submits outline planning application in accordance with borough council's masterplan
- 2003 - Competing landowners Legal & General and Schroders join forces to form Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP) and work on planning application with borough council
- 2002 - Bracknell Forest Borough Council produce town centre masterplan following extensive consultation which set out the community's vision for the town centre
- 2001 - Council found out what local people wanted from a new town centre
- 2001 - Secretary of State rejects plans for town centre redevelopment from Legal & General and Schroders
- 1999 - Secretary of State calls in plans for town centre redevelopment from Legal & General and Schroders. Three month public inquiry held.
- 1998 - Competing landowners Legal & General and Schroders submit ambitious, competing plans to redevelop Bracknell town centre
