Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

The Childcare Sufficiency Assessment is carried out every 3 years and helps Bracknell Forest Council with its ongoing work to ensure there is enough childcare in the area for parents who work, intend to return to work, or train to return to work.

The 2010 - 2011 Childcare Sufficiency Assessment for Bracknell Forest reflects the outcome of widespread consultation with children and young people, parents, childcare providers, local businesses and community organisations.

The purpose of the assessment is to establish where childcare provision meets demand, and where there may be gaps in services that could be addressed. In order to do this effectively, we also need to explore the impact that childcare has, or may have on issues relating to employment and retention.

It also reflects the intention of Bracknell Forest to maintain choice for parents wherever possible.

If you currently use or may require childcare services within the next 3 years, please share your experiences, comments and views with us.
