Information for Visitors with Disabilities
The Look Out Discovery Centre has four parking spaces for people with disabilities. These can be found on the left hand side as you look at the front of the building.
The entrance doors are automatic double width doors.
There are two toilets for people with disabilities that can be accessed via reception. Each has a grab rail and is fitted with an alarm.
The Hands on Science Centre has over 90 exhibits in five themed zones and nearly all of these exhibits can be accessed by visitors with disabilities. The Look Out tower can be seen via a video telescope situated in the Sound and Communication zone in the courtyard.
There is a ramp to the right hand side of the courtyard allowing easy access into the main building and the other three zones. Once inside the 'Forces and Movement' zone the lift is clearly signed. The lift will take you to the 'Body and Perception' zone on the first floor.
There are staff that have sign language skills and have received disability awareness training.
