History
A comprehensive history of the house and park, which was originally formed as a 19th century 'gentleman's residence', is available in the leaflet 'Lily Hill Park - The making of an English Landscape’ to the right of this page.
Restoration
In more recent years the park has seen locals successfully fight off a bid to build residential houses on the lawns of the building in the 1990s and the restoration of some of the key Victorian features of Lily Hill Park thanks to a grant received from the Heritage Lottery Fund in 2001.
