Safety at Home - Sensors

Forestcare can offer various sensors that link to a lifeline home unit. These sensors can help to manage risks within the home and enable vulnerable people to live safely independent for longer.

Sensors include:

Wireless PIR. Picture courtesy of Tunstall Group Ltd.

Wireless Passive Infra Red (P.I.R)
This sensor will detect movement or lack of it within the home environment.

Wireless smoke detector

Wireless Smoke Detector
This sensor will detect smoke and fire and send an alert through to the Forestcare control centre.

Flood Detector

Flood Detector
Similar to the smoke detector but will send an alert through if it detects water on the floor, for example, if a tap has been left running or a sink or bath is overflowing.

Falls Detector

Falls Detector
Again a sensor attached to the lifeline will send an alert through if excessive tilt is recorded.

Temperature Extreme Sensor
These are designed to provide early warning of potentially hazardous temperatures which can monitor high and low temperatures as well as a rapid rise, for example, if a cooker is left on.

Bogus Callers

Bogus Caller Button
An alarm button can be fitted near the main door to provide additional re-assurance when you are opening the door to people.

Door Entry/Exit Sensor
Provides an early warning by alerting the 24 hour response centre that the user has left their home and not returned within a predetermined time parameter.

Sounder Beacon

Sounder Beacon
Offers both visual and loud audible signals when a sensor or telephone is activated, ideal for the hard of hearing.

Bed chair sensor

Bed/chair Occupancy Sensor
Provides an early warning by alerting the 24 hour response centre that the user has left their bed and not returned within a pre-determined time period.

This may be due, for example, to a fall or an inability to sleep. The sensor can also monitor for enuresis (incontinence).
