You Said

We have  concerns about overcrowded streets caused by inconsiderate parking and not enough parking spaces.

We Did

Neighbourhood Team visited highlighted streets and gave warnings and some tickets.

Bracknell Forest Council and Bracknell Forest Homes are actioning a plan for improved parking spaces. Some streets have had new parking spaces built and more are to follow. The NEAT team – Neighbourhood Environment Action Team – of Bracknell Forest Homes has responds to parking complaints raised by residents and PCSO Hyslop.

Young people would like somewhere to go and meet up.

We Did

Organised the following activities for the young people:

Drop In - A Youth Club set up with volunteers and neighbourhood police team involvement is open every other Friday and is getting very popular.

PAY Scheme - 5 summer activities were organised based in our community and around South Hill Park for young people. 21 attended and 13 of those qualified for a reward visit to Oakwood Youth Challenge centre on 29 October. It was a very successful project and press coverage was very good.

Football Programme - Summer football training with professional coach was organized by Thames valley police and Bracknell Forest Homes.

No Trick, Our Treat - A tea party for elderly residents was hosted by youngsters in Birch Hill at the end of October. Waitrose provided 50 goodie bags.

Flower Beds - Flower beds were created by young people at the recycling point and Birch Hill community Centre.

There is litter and dog mess in Birch Hill & Hanworth.

We Did

Litter - Contacted the Street Cleansing department and Stuart Ballantine from that department attended a NAG meeting in July and joined a walkabout to identify the problem areas. There was a particular problem with  dumped rubbish at the recycling point and outside the local shops. On a more positive note, the CADIS statistics for dumped rubbish generally show that the ‘actual’ problem is not as bad as the ‘perceived’

We have asked the council about getting the shops & licensed food and drink premises to take responsibility for the rubbish that their customers drop, especially cigarette ends. Jo Legg has been invited to attend the January Cleaner Borough Group meeting.

The Birch Hill & Hanworth Community Liaison Group carried out there 60th litter pick recently. They organise a litter pick on the first Saturday of odd months: Jan, March, May, July, Sept and Nov. Contact Pat Kennewell.

Dog Fouling - PCSO Hyslop arranged with Bracknell Forest Council for new signs to be put up to replace old tatty ones.
