‘All of Us’ Action Plan
The Council’s ‘All of Us’ Action Plan includes the specific actions that the Council is taking to eliminate discrimination and promote equal opportunities in Bracknell Forest, as well as wider actions to promote community cohesion. The equality actions relate specifically to the 3 equality strands for which the Council has produced Equality Schemes; race, disability and gender, and generally to improving the Council’s capacity for wider working around equality and diversity issues. The Action Plan enables the Council to monitor its progress towards achieving outcomes that will promote equality. A progress report on the ‘All of Us’ Action Plan will be published annually on this website.
Equalities Standard
The Equality Standard for local government was launched in 2001. Ninety per cent of all local authorities have now adopted it. It enables them to mainstream age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief and sexual orientation into council policy and practice.
The Council is currently at Level 2 of the Equality Standard, which means that we are undertaking assessments of all of our services, functions and policies to judge whether or not they impact on different groups of people in different ways. In order to achieve Level 5 of the Equalities Standard, when we will be both achieving and reviewing equalities outcomes, we have developed an action planthat willensure our equalities work is fully comprehensive. The first milestone on the Equality Standard Action Plan is to progress to Level 3 by March 2009.
The Equality Standard Action Plan forms an essential part of the wider Equalities Action Plan, which details all of the work the Council is undertaking in order to promote equality of opportunity for everyone who lives and works in Bracknell Forest.
